Residential Moves
It's not easy to move! Whether you're moving to a house down the road or hundreds of miles away, essentially moving requires the same 3 phases: (1) loading items from the old address into the truck, (2) driving to the new address, and (3) unloading the truck. This often takes sweat and tears, muscles, and lots of stress. Oak City Movers will gladly assist with all your moving needs.
Full-Service Moves
Full-service moves consist of all three phases described above. Our moves will carefully wrap your furniture prior to loading them into the truck to protect them from damaging. At the unload location our movers will move your belongings from the truck into the preferred rooms, and unwrap them once they have been set down on their final spot.
Labor Only Moves

Pickup and Delivery
Sometimes you simply need to pick up or deliver a few items, but you might not have the capability to do this on your own. Oak City movers is happy to assist with any of you needs. Local & Intrastate
We offer local moves within the Triangle, as well as long distance moves within North Carolina. The distance of your move determines how you will be billed:
Local Moves
Local moves are charged hourly. This could be any move in the area, as long as the total distance is 35 miles or less. These moves are straightforward: you pay for the hours it takes to complete the move, and our hourly rates are reasonable and transparent. Prior to your move we provide a detailed estimate so you have an idea of how many hours are needed and how much your move would cost. Typically, the majority of time is spent on wrapping and protecting your furniture, as well as loading the moving truck. Once this first phase is complete, the movers will transport your belongings to your new address and unload until all items are in the right rooms.
Long-Distance Moves
Moves over 35 miles are charged quite differently. Although the moving process is similar, you will be charged based on total weight and distance, in compliance with regulations and industry norms. Prior to your move, we will weigh truck to get an empty weight. After loading the truck, we weight it again to calculate the total weight of all your items. This weight, along with the total distance, is then used to calculate the cost of your move. Prior to your move we provide a detailed estimate that includes the total estimated weight, rate, and cost, tailored to your specific needs.
Commercial Moves
In addition to residential moves, we also offer commercial moves for small businesses in the area. These moves are handled quite differently, as it often involves specialized commercial equipment and other items not typically found in homes. Packing & Unpacking
Oak City Movers will gladly assist with any packing or unpacking needs. Our movers are trained to pack your items professionally to prevent damage during moving, while also doing it in a time-efficient manner. In addition, we can assist with unpacking your boxes as well after the move has been completed. All packing services will be billed at a reduced labor-only rate, plus the cost of any boxes needed.
Packing Services
As if moving wasn't hard enough, packing usually takes a lot of time and planning as well. If you don't have the time or if you're not willing to do it all by yourself, while not hire movers to do it for you? Oak City Movers offers standard packing services at a reduced labor-only rate, plus the cost of boxes needed.
Unpacking Services
Unpacking can be a tedious process, and is probably something you're not eager to do after moving into your new home. If you're unable or unwilling to finish this on your own, please contact us and we'll send a professional team to do this for you. Our unpackers will listen to your requests and only place the items where you want them!
Boxes & Supplies
If you hire us to pack your items or if you prefer to pack on your own but are in need of boxes and supplies, we will be happy to provide this for you. All our boxes and supplies are of professional quality and should be able to properly protect your belongings. Please contact us for more details.
